After a guided tour, the Berchtesgaden salt mine opens its doors for an exclusive event. 650 metres underground, a special dinner is waiting for you. A culinary miners' buffet and live music await you - a colourful mix for all the senses.

This is what awaits you at the dinner in the Berchtesgaden salt mine.

A warm welcome! A glass of sparkling wine and sandwiches to welcome the guests.

Of course, the typical overalls don't just add to the atmosphere. They also serve to prevent you from damaging your clothes when sliding and contribute to your own safety.

Hold on tight: a ride with the mine railway 650 metres deep into the Salt Mountain.

On an informative and eventful guided tour through the mine, you will learn everything about salt mining and the life of the miners then and now. In addition to two 40-metre-long miners' slides, you can also expect a spectacular ride over the underground Mirror Lake. Our tunnel map will give you a first impression of what else awaits you underground.

Afterwards, a delicious miners' buffet awaits you at the Kaiser Franz Sink Work. The loving table decorations and the many small details turn the large sink work into a mystical dining room.

There's also a musical delight. A music group will provide the background music for the evening.

Can't get enough of sliding? There is plenty of time for this after the meal. A slide photo as a souvenir of the evening is also included in the price of the dinner.

During the subsequent rock salt tapping, you can take home a 250-million-year-old stone as a souvenir.

Back at the visitor centre, your slide photo awaits you with a sample of Miner's Gin to take home. For it is here in the depths of the salt mountain that the unique Miner's Gin from the Grassl Gentian Distillery matures. Storage at 12 degrees and constant humidity ensures its very special flavour.

Clothes and footwear

High heels are out of place for this dinner. Instead, sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing are suitable.

Please keep in mind when choosing your outfit: It is approx. + 12 °C in the mine. To protect your own clothes, you will be given overalls before the dinner starts.
